Secretary’s Report:  November 7th  meeting minutes approved.  NOTE:  send minutes to the Board
Treasurer’s Report:  gave us the balance in the checking account; our share to the complex  maintenance bill ($8500) has yet to be paid; $1500 insurance for 2011 should be in the budget,  Carlander Family has donated $825 for concessions equipment.
Fundraising Update:
  • Spring:  Ballard’s and any additional prizes( LaCanne’s $50 gift card, Grand Stay for one night $140 about, $200 cash???), need to file with the State Gambling fee yet $150
  • 7 tickets given to each Assoc family at $10 a piece
  • Drawing at end of May, receive tickets at the April 3rd team mtg

Soccer Complex Update:

  • Lights:  applied for a $100 000 grant, will likely hear by the end of the month, bid was approx $125000

Uniform Options:

  • The Adidas Tabella 11 uniform was chosen.
  • Lanzera for the U9-U10… green jersey, white jersey, socks and black shorts with numbers
  • Sellner’s (Karen Bussert printing) print the numbers and logo

 Registration Update:

  • Flyers went to all Faribault schools, public and private, except for BA (never anyone there to hand them to)
  • Blanket email also went out
  • Fee goes to uniform, maintenance of complex, team registration to MYSA, player registration and insurance to MYSA, tournament fees, districts, and the refs at the home games

Coaches Mtg:

  • Take place before the Team mtg—March 13 at 7 pm Washington Center
  • Required
  • Make sure everyone is on the same page with:  expectations, rules, policies, background check, Shattuck practice, tickets
  • Create a coaches committee:  Steve Kletschka, Missy Plante

Minutes of FSA Board Meeting

Present:  Troy Temple, Shelly Prieve, Bob Palmquist, Steve Kletschka, Pat Dudley, Joe Schleis, Tammy Anderson, Tim Schmidtke, Missy Plante, Doug Zahn

Secretary’s Report:  January 9th  meeting minutes approved.
Treasurer’s Report:  gave us the balance in the checking account; City of Faribault has been pd for; Complex donation has been paid;  yet to be paid is the $6000 to MYSA for assoc fee, teams and player passes
Fundraising Update:

Coaching Committee:

  • Steve Kletschka and Missy Plante will handle all referrals and go to the Board when necessary
  • Coaches’ Code of Conduct:  all coaches will sign and will submit to a background check (U9-U18 teams)

 Registration Update:

  • We went over the rosters and chose teams based on age appropriate as well as having the maximum amount of kids playing
  • As of today, U19 boys possible, U17 girls and boys, U16 boys, U15 boys, U14 girls, U13 boys, U12 boys and girls, U11 boys, U10 girls, U9 girls, and U9-10 boys are the teams formed
  • Few coaches are needed

Secretary’s Report:  February meeting minutes approved. 
Treasurer’s Report:  gave us the balance in the checking account; 2010 taxes are almost done
Fundraising Update:
  • 7 tickets given to each Assoc family at $10 a piece, receive these on the team mtg date of April 3
  • Drawing on May 29, 2011 at 10 am at the Complex
  • Advertising:  posters and 900+ tickets out into the community, resorts and grocery stores
  • HyVee has committed to selling the raffles

Teams submitted to MYSA:

  • 12 teams
  • Board feels there is not enough support for a U19 team, therefore there will not be one this year

Coaching Meeting Agenda March 13:  THIS IS REQUIRED
(Coach Committee names will have a weblink)

  • Code of Conduct and coaches’ signature
  • How referrals work-Steve and Missy and Board if necessary
  • Playing nights and fields
  • Uniforms
  • Shattuck:  Coaches Training Clinic April 2, and a Team Clinic

Player Petitions/Team considerations:

  • Parent had a request to overroster at the girls U14 level:  request granted
  • 2 players requested to play with classmates instead of playing up:  request granted to move them to U15 boys
  • U12 boys: needed players, so Board decided which 3 U11 players to move up if parents approve, coach consideration as well
  • U10 girls:  need a coach


            Team Meeting Agenda for April 3rd at the Elks:

  • Coaches arrange a meeting time with your team anytime from 1-5 pm and let Troy and Shelly know

          Field Layout and Playing Nights:

  • Mondays/Wednesdays:  U10 girls (sm Rotary), U11 boys (med Rotary), U12 girls (med Rotary), U13 boys, U14 girls, U15 boys
  • Tuesdays/Thursdays: U9 girls (sm Rotary), U10 boys (sm Rotary), U12 boys (med Rotary), U16 boys, U17 girls and boys
  • Goals may be placed on fields by Mid April, weather dependent
  • Public fields are behind the Middle School, Garfield Park, Maple Lawn Park and Roosevelt School

Next meeting is March 13, 2011 at the Wash. Center with the Coaches, then April 3 at the Elks for the Team meeting and Little Feat Registration

Fundraising Update:
  • Raffle tickets coming in
  • Drawing on May 29, 2011 at 10 am at the Complex

 Fields :

  • Little Feat begins June 7 on the Bahl Field
  • Rotary Field will now play U9-U12

Concessions budget to get started:

  • Lori Schleis-in charge, $3000 in a separate checking account with 3 people being able to sign, this is a non-salaried position (will look at this in the future)
  • Carlander family donated money for equipment
  • Assoc is in charge of concessions: we pay for equipment, food/drinks, and will continue to receive profits even when the HS Booster Club takes over for HS Soccer.
  • Possibility:  scholarship receptients could work off the money

Little Feat Update:

  • June 7th is the beginning on Tues/Thurs nights
  • Adding Tiny Feat for 4 yrs old and their parents, $25 fee

Team Budget for med kit/office supplies:

  • Missy will be getting one kit for each team

Ref fees:

  • We discussed the fee schedule for center/side refs for each age level
  • Approved the increased rates for all levels

 Fields :
  • Bahl Field will host U13-U19 games for 2012
  • The Soccer Complex board has approved to put a fence around the Rotary field.

SSM Soccer Camp:

  • See news article
  • Aug 1-5th 6-8 pm-Steve/Joe will take care of opening/closing gates

League Fees:
We are at the bottom of the league in terms of fees/costs
20 players received scholarships, HS also gave out some
Fall Soccer K-5:
Registration on our system, $29 for 6 weeks
Brenden will be in charge (paid position)
Tournament Refunds:
U11 boys:  2 each, $50 per player who did not receive a scholarship
U15 boys:  2 each, $50 per player who did not receive a scholarship
Mike Olson:  full refund

Overall Season Comments:
6 teams are going to Districts/League Playoffs:  U12 girls, U14 girls, U17 girls, U13 boys, U15 boys, and U17 boys
1 team automatically going to Regions:  u12 boys
Discussed the importance of deadlines for registration
Mentoring Program with U9-U10 games:  went very well
Hosting Tournaments for next year were discussed
November discussion will include:  Little Feat Organizer Pay, Volunteer Coaches child plays for free?, Player passes, K-5 Fall league, Review policy for Assoc for players with red cards
Outgoing Board Members:  Pat Dudley, Missy Plante and Tammy Anderson

Minutes of FSA Board Meeting
Sunday, August 28, 2011

Present: Tammy Anderson, Missy Plante, Troy Temple, Pat Dudley, Tim Schmidtke, Steve Kletschka

Absent:  Shelly Prieve, Joe Schleis, Doug Zahn

Guests:  Bob Palmquist

Secretary’s Report:  July minutes were read and approved.

Treasurer’s report

  • Balance reported in check book.
  • Receiving checks for fall soccer.

Overall Summer Season:

  • Summer Travelling
    • U15 Boys Team needed to replace player’s passes for the whole team.
    • Several teams made it into playoffs with the U14 girls being the State Champions.
    • Overall a very positive & successful season.
  • Little Feat
    • Another successful year
  • SSM Camp
    • Had over 70 participants last year.  Over 90 participants this year.
    • A big “Thank You” to SSM for hosting the camp.

Soccer Complex Update:

  • Floors have been sealed.  Paid for from soccer complex monies.
  • All entities have approved for fencing around the Rotary field.  This will be paid for from soccer complex monies.
  • Sound system has been installed on the Bahl field.
  • Hand dryers for restrooms should be installed 1st week of September.
  • Cleaning & stocking of restrooms is being done by the city.
  • Restrooms are currently available during game times only.  Trying to improve on the availability during practices too.  Possibility is to open them at 4:30pm until last practice is over-trying to figure out key availability for this.

2012 Tournament Update:

  • Bob Palmquist presented a tournament proposal to the board.
    • Age group of U9/U10 boys & girls, U11/U12 boys & girls
    • Field breakdown for tournament
    • Possible team fees
    • Possible ref fees
    • Types of awards
    • Potential tournament weekends
  • Troy will confirm the exact process for getting a tournament in Faribault scheduled.
  • Board voted for and approved to have a U9/U10 boys & girls tournament on May 12th, 2012 at the Faribault Soccer Complex.
  • Missy will contact other associations that hold tournaments to see if they will share info about team fees, refs fees, what works well, etc.
  • Next step is to decide on a Tournament Director
    • Missy has tentatively volunteered for this position
    • Steve, Tammy & Bob have volunteered to help.

K-5 Fall Soccer:

  • Registration ends 8/28/11, we will move deadline out a few days.
  • Season runs 9/8-10/6.  3 days per weeks.
  • Can either print form from website and send in or register online.
  • Goal is to have over 100 participants.

               
Annual Meeting:

  • Scheduled for Sunday, October 3, 2011.
  • 5:00pm at Elk’s Club
  • Troy to generate agenda & send out.
  • Outgoing board members this year are:  Missy Plante, Tammy Anderson & Pat Dudley.
  • Troy will send out email seeking nominations for new board members for the next 3 year term.
  • Tammy will make the arrangements for the catered meal from Hy-Vee.
  • There will be drawings for 1-$100 & 4-$25 gift certificates good towards 2012 soccer registration for those players that attend annual banquet.

               
Next meeting will be the Annual Meeting on Sunday October 3, 2011 at 5:00pm at the Faribault Elk’s Club.

Dinner and Welcome
Treasurer’s Report:  full report is available upon asking, net balance is positive
 Introduction to Current Board Members and Board Candidates:  Pat Dudley, Missy Plante and Tammy Anderson 
Introduction of Traveling Teams:  representatives were present for all but 2 teams.  Congrats went to the U14 State Champs Girls!
Soccer Complex Update:
  • Concessions-Lori Schleis volunteered to run it, $200+ sales per game
  • Floors have been sealed in the Complex
  • Sound System installed
  • Fence around Rotary Fields is in place, locking system will be installed this week
  • In the Future:  lights (cost of $130 000)

Volunteers:  70 -80 with 34 more from the HS parents during this fall season
Referee update:  has gone well, mentoring system in place for new refs, interested in being a ref-contact Missy Plante, classes would be required
2012 Tournament:  May 12, 2012 for the U9-U10 soccer players
Drawings:  3 $ 25 winners and 1 $100 winner
New Board members:  Tammy Anderson, Missy Plante and Pat Dudley

  • Little Feat:  $50 includes uniform
  • U9-U10:  $135 includes uniform
  • +U11:  $200 includes 2 tournaments and MYSA playoffs

Other:

  • Little Feat will be moving to the Rotary Field this summer, fence is complete
  • U9-U10 will also be on the Rotary Field if possible
  • U11-U12 Games will be on the Carlander Field
  • U13-U17 Games will be on the Bahl Field
  • Practice Field will be the Warren Field split into 2
  • Coaches Reimbursement:  (Due to our Budget for this year)
  • Little Feat:  Kids are free for each parent coach up to 2 coaches
  • Traveling:  Kids are ½ off for each parent coach up to 2 coaches
  • Salaried positions:  Little Feat will be $1000 (this includes preparing the Fall Schedule) and Concessions once we see the budget in January
  • Goalie Clinic:  April for the players, coaches are able to watch

  • February 12 (Registration Deadline for U9-U17 teams is 02/05/2012)
